About Coast RTA
A Catalyst for Connectivity, Growth, and Regional Mobility
Serving Horry and Georgetown Counties, Coast RTA provides essential public transportation
that links people to jobs, education, healthcare, and daily life.
Our network includes fixed-route commuter service, regional connections, and flexible mobility programs designed to keep the Grand Strand moving—reliably, affordably, and with purpose.
Forward-Focused
We’re building the future of public transit through innovation, infrastructure, and investment. With the support of Ride IV funding, Coast RTA is expanding and modernizing our fleet, enhancing rider information systems, and improving stop infrastructure across the region.
A cornerstone of this growth is our new Operations and Maintenance Facility—a state-of-the-art hub designed to improve service reliability, support future electric-vehicle integration, and provide a safe, efficient workspace for our dedicated team.
Community Driven
Our mission goes beyond transportation—it’s about connection. Every route we operate strengthens local communities and expands access to opportunity. We listen to our riders, collaborate with local governments, and align service to where people live, work, and learn.
Strategically Aligned
Guided by data, planning, and regional priorities, Coast RTA delivers mobility that supports economic development and workforce demands.
Through strong partnerships with Horry County, Georgetown County, local municipalities, the South Carolina Department of Transportation, and the Federal Transit Administration, we ensure every investment drives value for the communities we serve.
